Sixth Form BTEC Results

The Grange School is pleased to celebrate another set of outstanding Level 3 BTEC results. Following the recent national award as BTEC School of the Year for our approach to delivering BTEC courses, The Grange School is delighted to announce 100% Distinction* to Merit (equivalent A* to B at A Level) for Level 3 Extended Diploma (3 A Level Equivalent) and Diploma (2 A Level Equivalent) in Business Studies and Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. Overall 69% of students achieved three D* to D (equivalent to three A* to A at A Level) The Grange 6th Form’s top performers did exceptionally well with four of our Business Studies students achieving Triple Distinction* (D*) results. The triple distinctions are equivalent to three A* at A Level and the students are to be warmly congratulated for their hard work and outstanding success. Alex Cripps, Jordon Pierce, Jake Neville and Lois Simmons.  In Health and Social Care three of our students achieved D*D*D equivalent to A*A*A at A Level. These students are also to be commended for their hard work and excellent success: Emily Byrne, Jazmine Collins and Olivia Morris. All of our students have progressed onto University, Higher Apprenticeships or jobs with training.  Degrees in Paramedic Science and Psychology, Accountancy Apprenticeships and job offers from international companies such as Volkswagon being among the notable successes.  A number of students have also achieved employment offers following excellent work experience with our partner employers. We are absolutely delighted with the success of all our students, and are particularly pleased that they all have progressed onto a career of their choice. We wish them well in the future and look forward to hearing about their continued success. A big thank you must also go to the staff and parents without whose support and dedication these outstanding results would not have been possible. From September we are introducing a new Level 3 Engineering BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma designed in partnership with local employers. The course offers students the opportunity to develop knowledge of the different engineering sectors through a flexible approach including up to 6 weeks work experience. Content will be tailored to meet the interests of the students and will be studied both in the classroom and whilst on work placement. The course will offer students the opportunity to progress onto an apprenticeship or undertake further study at university.

The Grange School Celebrates Outstanding A-Level Results

The Grange School continues to have outstanding Level 3 BTEC results. Following the recent national award as BTEC School of the Year for our approach to delivering BTEC courses, The Grange School is delighted to announce 100% D* to Pass (equivalent A* to C) for Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Studies, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) Overall 83% of students were awarded three D* to D (equivalent to three A* to A) and 98% three D* to M (equivalent to three A* to B) This is excellent news for the school who is earning a national reputation for educational excellence in this field. We are thrilled with these exceptional results with very high numbers achieving the top grades.  I am extremely proud of them.  My staff deserve a huge vote of thanks for their continued dedication to the students and their high levels of professionalism. My heartfelt congratulations to the students who now have a brilliant platform upon which to make the next steps in their careers. Congratulations to the students who achieved the equivalent of three A* in BTEC Level 3 in Extended Diploma in Business Studies were Layla Anvarizadeh Mahtob, Yan Brown, Natasha Elmer, Elizabeth Horton, George Payne and Francesca Watson. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies) were Autumn Barker, Rhian Brown and Daisy Parker. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Development, Coaching and Fitness) are Craig MacFarlane, Daniel MacKenzie and Nathan McAuliffe. A number of our students once again have been accepted on University places including: Yan Brown – reading Business at Bournemouth Rhian Brown – Paediatric Nursing at Cardiff Dan MacKenzie –  reading Physical Education at Southampton Solent Autumn Barker – Reading Cardiology at Southampton Mahtob Layla Anvarizadeh – reading Business at Bournemouth Other students are taking a gap before their studies in America for the summer: George Payne – Camp America Craig MacFarlane – Football coaching Students who have secured Apprenticeships include: Elizabeth Horton – Penton Citroen Francesca Watson – Apprenticeship in animal care Future Plans: From September 2018 we will be introducing a new Level 3 Engineering BTEC.  Designed in partnership with local employers the course offers students the opportunity to develop knowledge of the different engineering sectors through a flexible approach including up to 6 weeks work experience.   Content will be tailored to meet the interests of the students and will be studied both in the classroom and whilst on work experience.  The course will offer students the opportunity to progress swiftly onto an apprenticeship or undertake further study at university.
