Assessment:

There are three units to complete, and these are assessed through assignments and practical assessments. These measure the hairdressing skills you have learnt.

You will have plenty of opportunity to practice and improve your skills as the course takes place in a salon environment.

Who is the course for?

This course is for those interested in Hairdressing and may want to consider it as a career, or for those who would like to gain an insight into the industry.

You should be:

· Aware of and have an interest in the changing fashions in Hair

· Friendly and be able to get on with all kinds of people.

· Enthusiastic and well presented and be able to communicate easily

What will I do on the course?

Unit 1—Introduction to the hair and beauty sector

This unit will give you an insight into the main job roles within the industry and the type of career opportunities available.

Unit  2 — Presenting a professional image in the salon

This unit will highlight the importance of presenting a professional image and communicating and behaving appropriately in a salon environment.

Unit  3 —Shampooing and conditioning

This unit introduces shampooing and conditioning techniques and gives you the opportunity to learn about different hair types and  about the different products available.
